Get Found in Google and AI Search
SEO + AEO Agency in Kansas City
Your customers aren’t only scrolling Google results anymore. They’re asking questions, comparing companies and looking for recommendations across Google AI, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI-powered search tools.
I help businesses improve their visibility across both traditional and AI search through SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), content strategy, structured data and technical implementation.
Smarter search strategy built around making your business easier to find, understand and trust.
No AI gimmicks. No promises to “rank #1 in ChatGPT.”
Traditional search isn’t disappearing. It’s expanding.
SEO is changing. Your search strategy should too.
Google increasingly incorporates AI-generated answers into search, while platforms like ChatGPT and Perplexity give consumers entirely new ways to research products, services and businesses.
That creates a new challenge.
It’s no longer enough to simply rank a webpage.
Search systems need to understand:
That's where Answer Engine Optimization comes in.
What is Answer Engine Optimization?
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the process of improving how clearly search engines and AI-powered answer systems can discover, understand and retrieve information about your business.
But AEO isn’t a replacement for SEO. The two increasingly work together.
Strong technical SEO, crawlable content, clear site architecture, useful information, structured data, established authority and consistent business information all help create the foundation modern search systems need.
That’s why I approach AEO as an extension of a strong organic search strategy, not a collection of AI tricks.
SEO + AEO Services
Every business starts from a different place.
Some already rank well in Google but have little visibility in AI search. Others have fundamental technical, content or authority problems that need to be addressed before an AEO strategy can perform effectively.
I identify what’s limiting your visibility first, then build the strategy around it.
AEO & AI Visibility Audits
Audits can evaluate your brand’s visibility, entity clarity, content coverage, technical accessibility, citations, competitive positioning and opportunities for improvement.
Technical SEO
I evaluate crawlability, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, performance and other technical issues that may prevent search systems from properly accessing or understanding your website.
Structured Data & Schema
I implement and improve appropriate schema markup while making sure the structured information accurately reflects what’s actually visible on the page.
Entity & Brand Optimization
Search systems need to understand that your company is a distinct entity and how it relates to services, people, locations, topics and other organizations across the web.
AEO Content Strategy
I identify query opportunities and develop content designed to answer them clearly while supporting the broader topical authority of your website.
Local SEO + Local AEO
I evaluate your Google Business Profile, website localization, and other signals that help search systems understand where you operate and when your business may be relevant to a local searcher.
Authority & Digital Corroboration
Mentions, reviews, citations, profiles, publications and other independent sources can help establish context and credibility around your company.
AI Visibility Monitoring
I evaluate the types of questions and prompts that matter to your business, monitor where your brand and competitors appear, and use those observations to identify additional opportunities.
Traditional SEO
Technical SEO, keyword strategy, content, internal linking, local optimization, competitive analysis and website authority remain foundational parts of a modern search strategy.
SEO + AEO Growth Engagements
I don't sell marketing packages.
I don’t sell the same combination of services to every business.

- Google Business Profile optimization
- Competitive analysis
- Service-area strategy

Who You're Working With
You're hiring me, not an account manager.
I'm Kristen Renfro, a Kansas City web developer and SEO strategist specializing in organic growth, website performance and digital strategy for home-service businesses.
My background spans the pieces that are too often separated between different agencies and departments: SEO, content, web design, WordPress development, technical implementation, analytics and conversion strategy.
That matters because identifying a problem isn't useful if nobody fixes it. When I find an opportunity, I can actually implement it. You also get to work directly with me rather than explaining your business to an account manager who relays it through three other people.

Are we A good Fit?
Who I work with.
I work with established businesses that depend on search visibility to generate customers, leads or revenue.
That can include:
Home-service companies
Professional-service businesses
Local and regional businesses
B2B companies
eCommerce businesses
Multi-location companies
Companies with established SEO programs that want to expand into AEO and AI visibility
FAQs
SEO & AEO frequently asked questions
What is Answer Engine Optimization?+
Answer Engine Optimization, or AEO, is the practice of improving how easily search and AI-powered answer systems can discover, understand and retrieve information about a business, website or topic.
AEO can involve traditional SEO, technical accessibility, content structure, entity clarity, structured data, authority signals and other aspects of a company's digital presence.
What's the difference between SEO and AEO?+
SEO traditionally focuses on improving visibility within organic search results.
AEO focuses more specifically on visibility and understanding within answer-driven and AI-powered search experiences.
In practice, there is significant overlap. Strong SEO fundamentals provide much of the infrastructure needed for modern AI search visibility, which is why I generally approach SEO and AEO as interconnected disciplines rather than competing strategies.
Can you guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT?+
No.
There is no legitimate way to guarantee that a specific AI system will recommend or cite a company for a particular prompt.
What I can do is identify and improve the technical, content, entity and authority signals that help search and answer systems discover and understand your business.
Does schema markup help with AEO?+
Structured data can help machines understand explicit information about a webpage and the entities represented on it, making it a useful component of a broader search strategy.
However, adding schema markup by itself does not guarantee visibility in AI-generated answers.
I use structured data where it accurately represents the visible content and meaning of the page rather than treating it as an AEO shortcut.
How long does AEO take?+
There isn't a universal timeline.
Results depend on your existing search visibility, technical foundation, website authority, competition, content and the types of improvements required.
Some technical or content changes can be implemented quickly, while building broader authority and search visibility is a longer-term process.
How do you measure AEO performance?+
AI visibility requires a broader measurement approach than simply tracking a traditional keyword position.
Depending on the engagement, I may evaluate AI citations and mentions, visibility across relevant prompts and queries, organic search performance, branded search activity, referral traffic, conversions and other indicators of search visibility.
The goal isn't to manufacture an impressive AI visibility score. It's to understand whether search is creating meaningful business opportunities.
Can AEO help local businesses?+
Yes.
Local businesses can benefit as consumers increasingly use AI-powered search to research companies, compare providers and ask location-specific questions.
Strong local AEO still depends on fundamentals including accurate business information, a well-optimized website, relevant local content, reviews, Google Business Profile optimization and broader signals that establish what the company does and where it operates.
Do I need AEO if I already have an SEO company?+
Possibly not.
A good SEO program should already address many of the fundamentals that support AI-search visibility.
The question is whether your current strategy accounts for how search behavior and search experiences are changing.
I can evaluate your existing SEO and AI visibility without requiring you to replace an effective partner unnecessarily.
Which AI search platforms do you optimize for?+
My approach focuses on improving the underlying digital signals that can contribute to visibility across modern search and answer platforms rather than attempting to manipulate one specific model.
That includes traditional Google Search, Google's AI-powered search experiences, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and other emerging search environments where relevant.
Do you only work with businesses in Kansas City?+
No.
I'm based in the Kansas City area and work with Kansas City businesses, but I provide SEO, AEO, website and organic growth services to companies throughout the United States.
