AEO and AI Search
Organic SEO Case Study 2
Auto Body Shop, Texas
The Challenge
This body shop client had strong local brand recognition but was leaving enormous search potential on the table — 554 page-1 rankings but a CTR under 1%. More critically, AI-driven search was beginning to reshape how local drivers find auto body shops, and no competitor had identified the opportunity yet.
What I Did:
Full AEO audit identifying 65+ conversational, AI-generated queries already appearing in Search Console data.
Structured content and schema implementation targeting AI Overview and answer engine citation eligibility.
Position improvements on high-volume service queries including "auto body shop austin" (+13 positions, 581 impressions/mo) and "auto body repair" (+17.7 positions).
CTR optimization on high-impression pages with near-zero click rates (collision repair, dent repair, hail damage).
The AEO Advantage:
Site is ranking positions 2–10 for queries like "find me auto body repair in TX with fast turnaround" and "list of auto body repair shops in TX with best reputation" — exactly the conversational queries AI engines surface.
2,200+ monthly impressions from AI-style queries and growing — competitors haven't identified this yet.
"auto body shops austin tx" moved from position 18.1 to 3.9 — a 14-position jump on 31 monthly impressions.
Early-mover positioning established before AI search reshapes local service discovery in the Austin market.
